At close to $600 for a pair of Italian 14k earrings, wouldn't you want to know the total gram weight? I only have two pair of gold earrings so I really don't know. But I doubt I would buy $600 earrings without comparison shopping.

They rarely, if ever, give gram weights on jewelry anymore.  Just assume its not very heavy.

Even when they routinely gave gram weights they almost never gave weights for earrings. Most gold earrings are very light and the ratio of weight to cost wasn't the same as necklaces and bracelets.

The gold earrings are certainly big and bold looking.

One of the reviewers states that the earrings weigh four grams.

Comparison shopping is not the way it used to be, as gold prices are sky-high everywhere.  Perhaps on the secondary market or when items are on extreme clearance, bargains can be found...

So glad I purchased a lot in the past, when prices were more reasonable, even though I might have thought that they were high.

The real reason to buy jewelry is because you really like it and want it, NOT because it is a good value.

@froggy Most of the time gold and silver earring, of any larger size, are hollow. If solid, they'd be too heavy for our ears.

@Shanus  Oh, absolutely! I agree. I can't even wear most silver earrings as they are generally heavier than gold earrings. I was just pointing out that gram weight on earrings was rarely given, even in the past. As a matter of fact, for me, I avoid heavier earrings, even in gold.

@froggy   Metal prices are up and many jewelers are using a method where pieces are filled w/ a solid silicone in the mold and then melted out to create a hollow "form" that's just as strong as a solid piece without the weight.
