I recently bought the Jai Lioness enhancer, and it's gorgeous (I need some inner strength!), but I can't figure out how to open it to put it on a necklace!

Any tips? TIA!

Re: Need help Jewelry ladies!

@KingstonsMom - Good morning! You have purchased an enhancer, and many of them operate in the exact same way as the one you purchased.

Turn the enhancer over to look at the upper clasp mechanism on the bale portion. Forget about the entire lioness portion of the enhancer.

This enhancer has two mechanisms to keep it closed.

1. To open and close the first, outermost mechanism of the enhancer, notice the open, sort of triangular-shaped piece of silver (like a silver wire) with the tiny knob on the top of it. Pull down on the upper knobby part of that mechanism to bring it down toward the engraved wording on the back of the enhancer.

2. Then, you will need to pull up (in the opposite direction) the base of the bale to release mechanism 2 of the enhancer, which is  the portion of the bale that is closest to the engraved words on the back of the enhancer, to pull up that bottom portion of the bale, and move it up and away from the engraving of the other portion of the enhancer.

The two components of the bale click into place to keep the enhancer bale closed.

To close the enhancer around a necklace of your choice, first push down the inner mechanism till it clicks or at least closes securely. Then, pull up the wire-like, knobby portion as a safety mechanism to lock it in place.

I hope this explanation helps you to wear your new piece of jewelry on different chains you have. Enjoy wearing it!

@Jersey Born, most excellent and detailed explanation on this. And I know it's not easy to put into words. So kind of you!

Re: Need help Jewelry ladies!

You are most welcome, @KingstonMom. Jai jewelry is distinctive, bold, and fun to wear. I am glad my description actually helped you.

It is nice to see someone excited about wearing jewelry.

Which necklace are you planning to wear it with? Is it another Jai piece or something from a completely different vendor? I pair Jai enhancers with either Jai necklaces, or with other Balinese silver necklaces I purchased in the past (from Suarti, from Samuel B, Novica, etc.). Jai's high polished silver works well with other brands, too.

In my opinion, there is very little out there in the marketplace to rival the master handcrafted silver work from jewelry makers in Bali, and also in Thailand.
