Michael Dawkins OTO hematite ring

My waitlist just cleared and I received this ring(I already have the turquoise and crystal!). I love the ring, however, it looks more brown than black to me.(like smoky quartz) Is that the color everyone got, or is this one perhaps, a fluke. I really preferred a blackish stone.
