I think they are lovely gifts.  I love Dogeared products.  The prices are always the same no matter where you find the items so unless you have a coupon that would apply, you'd probably pay pretty much the same.  Good job!

IMO the prices are quite high for plated pieces. The necklace was gold plated for $98. No I didn't purchase these items.

I saw it on PM Style last night, when I Googled the Maya pieces they were 25% off on at least one Web site.

There is a phenomenal woman cuff, I love that poem and would love to own that cuff but I think it was $150

@Mz iMac I'm sure they'd have to get permission to use her quotes & maybe pay a percentage to her estate. That may account for the high prices.

Dogeared has partnered with the estate and family of Maya Angelou through pieces of jewelry with her published writings. It's under Dogeared's Legacy Collection; all made in the U.S. 

Maya Angelou did not design this jewelry.  It's her words that have been approved for use.  

I created a painting/collage years ago for an art show and wanted to use one line from Alice Walker's book (The Color Purple author).  It took 4 months to work through the legal approval process, but I got it.

Love Maya Anjelou and her wise sayings, but no way would I spend money on this type of jewelry.  Ridiculous!
