Looking at some gemstones today

[ Edited ]

Wonder what your favorites are?

For Pink to dark pink I'd choose Morganite to Bixbite

For green...it would be Prasiolite

For blue..I'd choose Tanzanite. (Actually it's more a shade of lavendar). Love all blues.

Do you have colors that you like for favorites? What ones, if so?

Red I like the dark blood shade

I do like others, but I also llike the really dark greens.

There's so many beautiful ones.

I'm a "rock hound" are you too? LOL

I think the stone in my necklace that has an inner blue glow is labradorite... Whatever it is, it has me going!

Also, stones on that include pyrite/iolite

Below is rutillated Quartz.

The stone above is Labradorite.

@LTT1,

 I only saw this stone (looks like light bulb shape) this last year.  That is so cool to look at. I really need to learn more about these. Isn't it amazing all you can learn about the gems that come out of the earth and Moldavite, the one that got here from space?  I'm just fascinated by all this.

For some reason, right now I am bored with more expensive stones! (What??) Some bleach out due to light and some are lab-created.

The more raw stones are appealing...

@LTT1,

the gemstones I'm starting to read about are in the JTV web page, I like how they like to tell you things you need to know.

Which ones now catch your eyes?

Re: Looking at some gemstones today

I started loving gemstones and gemstone jewelry about 25 years ago, so by now I've accumulated quite an arsenal.  My taste in gems and jewelry has evolved over the years, but one thing never changes........I love bright colors!  With that in mind, my favorite gem is fancy-colored sapphire.  If I can get all the colors together in one piece of jewelry, so much the better......I'm a rainbow kind of girl!  I also love opals and ammolite.......you only need one stone and you get the whole rainbow!

I'm all about the color of certain stones.  Here are a few -

the intense green of tsavorite

the lavendar/blue of a tanzanite

the blue/lavendar of an iolite

that caribbean blue of the paraiba tourmaline

the orange/congac of a madiera garnet

a colorful opal that exudes every color of the rainbow - and then some

These are a few of my favorites things.
