Re: Let's DISCUSS: Judith Ripka July 2014 visit--what are you getting/interested in?... :)

Peach....I can't believe that I actually didn't order anything this time around! However, how do like your interchangeable set? I've thought about that set and would value your opinion as well as those of the other ladies. Anisha, I'll anxiously await your review of the 20" pearl necklace you ordered....always a pleasure to speak to you, Peach.

Re: Let's DISCUSS: Judith Ripka July 2014 visit--what are you getting/interested in?... :)

Hi, Peach! I'm so happy to read that you're feeling substantially better. Hope you're able to make a total recovery very quickly.

My schedule was hectic during this weekend's shows. Caught bits and pieces and hoped to view the videos during my down-time today. I was surprised to learn that many presented pieces do not have an accompanying video...and read in various threads that many new pieces were not presented. I assume that the Q was focused on clearing out older inventory.

I didn't go overboard at all this visit. Purchased the TSV earrings in both silver and clad (thanks to Pepper's rave review). Ordered them early and they arrived several days ago. They're lovely and comfortable on the ear. I also ordered the clad ice cube bracelet as I adore the silver version. I agree with many others that it works especially well worn with the Regent Watch (own it in stainless and yellow clad). Look forward to the arrival of that beautiful piece.

Enjoy your Sunday, stay cool and have a wonderful week ahead!

Re: Let's DISCUSS: Judith Ripka July 2014 visit--what are you getting/interested in?... :)

I am so glad I found this thread. Maybe some of you could help me to understand what the heck (polite usage) happened to the Judith Ripka shows this visit!!! By finding this thread, I learned that JR has sold her company. I was shocked, but I've been feeling for many months that she hasn't looked well and was wondering if she or a family member was ill (or maybe just tired out?). Anyway, that is speculation on motive, but I'm most concerned about what happened to her shows this visit. First, Suzanne was gone, and I've read all the good comments about that. I saw her on another show that day so I have been wondering. But mostly, I wondered why they presented so few of the new pieces on air! I watch the JR website every day, especially as the next show approaches. There must have been at least ten pieces that should have been shown in person - all the multi-jewel rings and bracelets particularly, but others as well. I waited and waited to see pieces that have been on the web site for weeks. Nothing. Instead, they showed that Regent watch so many times and for so long that I thought I was on ShopNBC watching their Invicta shows! It was ridiculous. Then they spent an inordinate amount of time on the TSV. I know many of you ladies liked those earrings, but from a business point of view, there was more money to be made showing those new multi-gem cuffs and rings, the new pearl bracelet, the new pink quartz cuff, etc. Who programmed those shows?!!!! They were just awful. I am a substantial Ripka customer and ardent fan, but I became so disgusted with the shows that I cancelled everything I ordered (many pieces) and wrote an email to Customer Service with instructions to please forward to the proper department. Frankly, I am still in shock (Monday morning) with the inadequacy of this last JR visit. I'm sure the shows were programmed by some first year intern. Thank goodness that I found this thread and learned that JR had sold her company. That may explain some things. But if QVC continues to program these shows the way they did this last week-end, they will lose all their substantial customers. And if anyone can suggest why in heaven's name they failed to show so many of the new pieces that had been presented on the web site in anticipation of the shows, I would be very grateful. That makes no sense to me no matter who owns the company. You can't buy jewelry at the price point without showing it. Something went very wrong with the programming for JR's shows this week-end and I would love to know why. Thanks for listening! And any thoughts?

Hi LuckyPeach!

How have you been feeling lately? I almost forgot to tell you that enchincea is also a natural antibiotic . You can pick it up in most drug stores. I myself am on some antibiotics for a bacterial infection that I picked up in the hospital, for an overnight stay for tests. I had a scare that just turned out to be stress related. The doctors thought that I was having a stroke, because my face was going numb and tingling. Thank God my CT scan and MIR came back negative. I never knew stress could make your face go numb too?

I already ordered the TSV earrings in silver, and they are so beautiful!! They go so well with the cherries necklace that was a LTS on Judith's last visit. I also purchased and already received Judith's Hamsa charm J-295554. It's such a pretty charm and sparkles so brilliantly! I also picked up J-288081 JR oval and baguette ring from clearance....spectacular ring! It's like the rays of the sun....the baguettes dance with the light!

Judith Ripka Sterling 1/2 ct tw Diamonique Hamsa Charm - J295554Judith Ripka Sterling 7.7ct Oval & Baguette Diamonique Cocktail Ring - J288081

Me2Me, thank you! I have a daily regimen of several anti-bacterials: garlic, goldenseal, olive leaf, cinnamon and occasionally, the Echinacea. Very sorry to hear about your scare...perhaps it was something like Bell's Palsy which I have seen on two different people and eventually worked itself out where the person had no lasting paralyzed side of the face. I think stress affects everything in health. Have you ever heard about Bach's Rescue Remedy and Gaba Calm? I use both and you can read reviews on Iherb dot com. I have the numbing and tingling at times, mostly left arm. Just imagine if we could be less sensitive to stress...I would love that!

Other than the cherries necklace which I have and like, everything else you've mentioned sounds pretty great. The Hamsa and ring are very nice. After the end of this visit, if you get a moment, please add your thoughts to the July all review... I'm a huge fan of baguettes! Thanks for your post and I hope you are feeling better. It is so hard dealing with stress..ugh! Take care, Me2Me!! ~Peach

LuckyPeach,

They checked me for Bell's Palsy, MS, Shingles, Stroke, etc.. We just came to a realization with the kids home from school....they have been inside a lot because of rain. I seem to play referee a lot. Getting a phone call about my Dear Aunt and Great Uncle both on their last legs and my Father....he has to go back for heart surgery because they found a small tear from the last surgery....With all of that combined, it just got to me! I have some medications to help me out. I'm good now. Feeling pretty mellow....LOL!

I have never heard of the Bach's or Gaba, I will have to check that out....Thank you! I hope everything gets better for you. You are in my prayers Peach.

Me2Me, sorry that it took me a few days to get back to you. I totally get where you're coming from about the stress element and too many things happening at once. It has been a tough week for me with my police brutality case...got some palpitations, ugh. DH really likes the Gaba Calm because the peppermint under the tongue lasts up to a half hour...good breath as well as feeling less stress. The Bach's *for me* is a little more subtle. You are in my prayers as well Me2Me. Thanks, as always! ~Peach

ghb, I believe you can type the J-number in the search box and threads with conversations and the all review thread should pop up (I did a looooong review on the clad one when it first came out) and think when I get the silver set, I may do another just because I'll have more to play with and see what pops up. Best wishes and take care~Peach

Dallas-Dame, you're so nice and I appreciate that! Please add your TSV earrings reviews to the July all review if you get a moment, please. Congrats on the clad ice cube -- I have found myself collecting favorites in the clad as well, especially cuffs! Thanks for the supportive thoughts and take care~Peach

Well a big hello SuSu and welcome to the Ripka board! Sorry for the delay in answering your post... Glad to hear you are also a long-time JR collector like me and that you took the time to post and share your valuable observations and thoughts. I honestly believe the JRQ inventory is too big and that's the reason behind what has been going on. With it ballooning from about 330 J-numbers in 2008 to often 1,300 and the 40% and upward price increases during a financial crash in our country, well I'm one of her biggest fans and I cannot keep up, so I think there's a lot of factors in play. I think they must've been pretty deep in stock levels for the TSV and that's why it got so much air time, plus the pricing was such that the earrings become an entry point for new Ripka clients. As far as Suzanne, it is summer and perhaps she was away on vacation? And for not showing some of the new pieces, it is often that the pricey pieces are very shallow on stock levels and do not get shown on air unless there are many, many hours of programming. Have no idea for the other less expensive designs. It is frustrating though and I agree with you, it is a whole different ball game to see a video of something versus just the sub-par Q photos. I also agree that this was a shortened visit and sorry to hear that you cancelled many JRQ orders. GOOD FOR YOU THAT YOU WROTE TO CUSTOMER SERVICE. Maybe it will make you feel that you have some company in frustration here but today I had to mail back the clad Malachite cuff ON MY THIRD TRY! First time, there were gouges in the Malachite, second time I was sent a cheap DMQ ring that wasn't even JR and this time, the cuff was OK except that a large DMQ stone was missing on the side!! Judith did not sell her entire company, just the name and rights to expanding to more lifestyle pieces, like the handbags. So, don't worry in that regard. Finally, did you know you can call the President's Office directly to talk to a person and resolve issues? Let me know if this interests you and I can post the phone number. Thanks again for sharing and take care~Peach
