If something were to happen to her tomorrow, G@d forbid, and she were no longer around, the same thing would happen. Her company would be sold or cease to exist. This way, it is her choice as to who is using her name and in whose hands she is entrusting her legacy. I can't blame her for that. I would want the same. I love all of my jewelry that I have purchased from her and I feel blessed that I have had the opportunity to own these works of art. I am glad that she is staying involved to train up a new team that will carry on her vision and I am sure that she will continue to design because designing isn't what she does, it's who she is.

Beautifully stated Bocagirl and I totally agree. Thank-you~Peach

Lucky Peach - you asked about my birds. They are not traditional pet birds (to most people). They are hand raised orphans or rescues - 3 sparrows and one pigeon.

There are times when you must speak, not because you are going to change the opposing side, but because if you do not speak, they have changed you.

I took it out of context because I thought your post about art was a little over the top. These are not museum pieces. They are not sold at auction. There was recently a hot debate about whether one could even get a JR item appraised.

I know the Ripkanistas are blind about their beloved Judith, and there's nothing I can do about that.

She sold the company. I hope you all find a way to cope.

Lucky Peach, I find the "ignore user" button to be priceless...and I might add, that I can only see this particular user when they are quoted in a response (like yours here within). I have found this thread far more pleasant to read without all of the usual obnoxious commentary. I have a few more users who I have ignored because of this thread. I do find it comical that people who profess to dislike Ripka and her jewelry spend an awful lot of time making commentary to that fact. Me thinks they protest too much....a little green goddess envy, in my opinion! Peach, keep on rocking your Ripka and take the high road!

I for one, am hopeful for a full product line integration at QVC...in other words, she starts selling her 18k or even a 14k line...or at a minimum, offering her sterling with touches of gold rather than just clad with gold. I think that would be fabulous.

ITA. They're just making a bunch of excuses.

she worked hard and got a good price for her company. But I saw what happened to Philosophy and I am dumping dumping dumping before anything I own is worthless. The new mega company will exploit the name.

Bird Mama, that's fascinating! I love birds; they all have distinct personalities. Sparrows always seem so active and upbeat while pigeons appear focused on finding that next crumb. I'm sure your four are glad that you rescued them. Here is SoCal many buildings have outdoor stairwells and birds often get confused and trapped on the upper floor of DH's work. So, he's always catching them and setting them free. Finally, he put a fake owl to act as a sort of scarecrow so this rarely happens any more. Good luck with your four birdies~Peach

Ripkanistas: again, my quote was taken out of context from post #105 where I'm talking about our Judith in a reverential manner about her art of design and choice of materials used throughout her lines, from couture to JRQ. ~Peach
