Seriously, $120 million for that Skinny Girl stuff? I would have gone home and stayed there if I made that much.

Amazing, huh? I remember watching Bethenny in the Housewives series early on when she was just a column writer for Health magazine...catering & selling her baked items @ street fairs. Exciting to have seen her grow to the success of today.

The writing has been on the wall for a while. Alison and Brian's absence, sky high pricing (to push up the values before the sale), along with all the fake stones diluting the couture brand. I pass her Madison Ave store every day and I have not seen a customer in there once. I'm sure that store will close soon too.

That said, JR worked hard and she should reap her rewards. She is a success story

Judy and Family just cashed out BIG!!!!!

I'll bet they couldn't be happier.

Set for life.

I'm with those who say $22 million doesn't seem like very much.

A million dollars isn't what it used to be.

Bethenny mentioned on her show the other day that since she was the first to start a business on the Bravo network they didn't make any money off of her. Now Bravo wants a % of what the other housewives make when they start a new business from the show. LuAnn from HW NY will be on Shop HQ selling her new clothing line.

That's about 5 times MORE than Judith is getting!

On the face of it, it doesn't seem like a whole lot of money, but I don't know, it seems to me she's essentially permitting her name to be 'licensed'. She's not so much offering up a product as an intellectual property.

Judith will be 72 years old in August....maybe she wants to spend more time with her husband....she started her company in 1977...that's 37 years ago...I say more power to her and wish her the best of luck.

A middle America jewelry line sold on a TV shopping channel. Lightweight sterling, crystals, and semiprecious stones instead of gold, substantial silver, and precious stones. Manufactured overseas in factory runs of thousands. And now Ms. Ripka is selling off the whole cheesy kit and kaboodle. How long can the words "designer" or "couture" continue to be attached to this, even tenuously?

I don't think she has anything to sell besides her name.

I don't know. I hear she's sitting on a gigantic Diamonique mine...

Her first years pieces were very substantial, she used real stones (even though they were blue topaz and garnets not expensive ones) and only accents of diamonique. Once she started becoming the premier designer, it became clad, lightweight tinny silver, doublets, triplets and full on diamonique. It makes me appreciate all my heavy early JR more. It will be even more downhill to brass ala RLM.
