Nice deal, but I wonder how it will effect the quality of her line.

I don't think that is very much at all
what is the story there?
I agree, thought it was low.The Company acquired the Judith Ripka Brand for a value of approximately $22.5 million comprised of (i) $14 million in cash, (ii) $6 million in interest-free promissory notes due 5 years from the date of issuance, and payable in cash or stock at the Company's option, and (iii) approximately 571,500 shares of the Company's common stock. In addition to the purchase price, Xcel will provide for up to an additional $5 million in contingent future payments, payable in cash or stock at the Company's option, based upon the Company achieving certain net royalties generated by the Judith Ripka Brand during the annual periods from October 2015 through September 2018. The acquisition is expected to be accretive to Xcel's 2014 earnings

When she was on recently, I posted about the plan for the future - what exactly would it be. Well, ladies, I now know what it is. This is the kiss of death to the "upscale, couture" brand. Shuttering stores? This was a fire sale. They can call it whatever they want. How many people are going to spend $700 on a QVC cuff now? The Ripka brand has lost its appeal.

My son is a corporate attorney. I have sent him the link. Will wait to see what he says about it.

maybe she wants to retire?
ride of into the sun with the money?
perhaps she has made all her money and this is the icing on the cake, and she is getting out while she can get the most profit.

One number tells you very little. You have to look at the financial statement and see everything;i.e.,costs, profit, loss, revenue, etc.
