I cimpletely agree, and think Joan and David D. would too.  I'm with sunshine45 too - the necklace can go with just about anything.  Jeans and a white blouse work fine with my necklaces, esp. the turquoise.  Heck, if I wated to wear my jewelry for a dressy occasion, it would never get worn.

Last night I went to a neighborhood singalong of oldies songs.  Most people were in jeans and a tee shirt, as were the band members.  I wore leggings, a sleevelss cotton black tunic with daisies on it (from a thrift store!) and a drop-dead gorgeous,  huge necklace (in ornate brass) I own from the turn of the century.  The "star" of the evening was my necklace!  it got so many favorable comments and I felt really good getting wear out of it.  Why not?  I don't want it to sit in a box and rot ... I want to enjoy my jewelry1  I'm delighted to have worn it last night, and so were all the people who saw it and gave me compliments galore on it!
