Re: Jewelry question for the sleuths..

@SilleeMee @Jk9 Yes, in the first video she pretty much says it's a DMQ stone.  Going to watch the video with Nancy H. now.

@faeriemoon

Here's the description of the ring. I c/p it from the original Q listing.

"Description

True blue. Count on this stunning Tova ring to enliven your ensembles and become a go-to favorite in your jewelry collection. A striking, emerald-cut simulated tanzanite surrounded by a halo of Diamonique(R) simulated diamonds makes this piece a true standout.

For more details on this ring's fit, please refer to the Ring Size Guide above.

  • Sterling silver
  • Total simulated tanzanite weight is approximately 4.50 carats
  • Diamonique simulated diamond weight is approximately 1/3 carat
  • Prong-set, faceted, emerald-cut simulated tanzanite surrounded by a halo of prong-set, round Diamonique simulated diamonds that continue onto both sides of the shank; openwork gallery; polished finish
  • Sizes 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10
  • Measures approximately 3/8"L x 3/4"W
  • Imported"

"Simulated" means it has the look of Tanzanite and that doesn't mean it's made of cz. Simulated stones can be made from a variety of materials including cz, glass, crystal or even plastic. But in this case where it's a 'Diamonique' branded ring, it might be safe to assume that the simulated Tanzanite is a cz. That's a big assumption so in actuality it might be something else, like I said before.

@Midmod Having watched the videos on YT, and having the read the description, it seems the grand mystery has been solved.  It is simulated tanzanite.

Re: Jewelry question for the sleuths..

I thought it looked like sim tanz but many said it wasn't so..... I once, many years ago, had an opportunity to buy a real omega necklace with a solitaire tanz....I didn't buy it because I would have had to make payments over time on it. I wish I had done it anyway because it ( today) looks like I would have had a one of a kind valuable PC of jewelry to enjoy and watch value increase on it. Oh well 😢
