I wanted to watch today's 5am JAI show since I knew some of the new pieces would be featured.  As a new retiree, I did not plan to be up at 5am, so I recorded the show.  While watching the show, I saw a pair of earrings that looked so good on the model and on Jill.  When they were presented, they were actually not new, but a pair that I had never seen presented before.  I know I have seen them when scrolling on the website, but they were the type of earrings that look so much better on.  Since they were at a sale price, I went to the website to order them.  They were at regular price at about 10:30 am.  What???????????  When a show is at 5am, I doubt that there are many people watching.  Why not leave the sale price at least for the rest of the day.  Oh well, I guess my pocket book is happy that the sale price is so liimited.

Many times items are discounted for that show only. It's a sales technique to get viewers to watch live. I rarely watch a show to see the One Time Only but occasionally I will check Deals and search by Newest. This can give me OTO's if they are recent.

At 5am (eastern, I assume) that's a rerun from another previous show.  It's possible the price was for that previous show or day only.

I think all the special lower prices they advertise during the day should stay until the end of the day, local time for the viewer.

Maybe QVC figures that if people had all day to think about it, they would either forget or decide not to buy.

Or maybe, like the OP, the customer gets frustrated and does not buy at all.  I know that has happened to me, that a price is higher than it was a few hours ago, and I decided not to buy.

It is going to be interesting to see if all the changes QVC has made has had a postive impact on their bottom line.

@TheMemphisVette Not misinformation.  Just doesn't understand "this price only good until the end of the show."  These types of rants are usually because they just are not paying attention.  If one did tape and watch the video presentation they would have known that the price was only good until the end of the show ... they always state that several times as a reminder.

I'll admit, I don't watch QVC all day, and  I am not up to date with all of the QVC policies and procedures.  I am only interested in the JAI shows as I am a big fan.  For example, I thought that shows were often repeated on QVC2 and QVC3, but it I thought all regular QVC shows were in real time.  I did not realize that the show was a repeated show from another day.

The item was not a one time only or any special pricing other than a simple sale price.  I honestly don't remember the host or Jill saying that the price was only good until the end of the show.  I do fast forward and rewind when I record a show, so once I saw enough of the presentation to know that I wanted the item, I may have skipped the end of the presentation.  I certainly did not mean to prvide any misinformation.

You said it was a QVC show at 5am. All QVC shows are repeats from 3-7am ET as of October 7, 2019 (except Holiday Shopping Weekend).

The earrings may go back on sale on May 5th when they have the JAI TSV.

I believe that from 2am to 6am (eastern time) the programs on the QVC Main channel are repeats.  They no longer do live programming 24 hours a day.
