Inventory control and new designs

I often order jewelry items from the last clicks or as is to find a deal.  Lately I ordered two items, a gold aquamarine pendant and a bracelet.  Both orders were confirmed only to then be on back order.  The pendant order was never fulfilled.  I now await what will happen with the bracelet.  Please make sure the items you present and sell are actually in your inventory.  Huge disappointment.  The jewelry department seems to be concentrating on affinity diamonds to the exclusion of other gems.  How many $5000 diamond rings and bracelets are needed when they kind of all look alike?  The designs are old hat and run of the mill mass produced pieces.  It would be nice to bring back more individuality as was the case years ago when we would see a Robert Morris, Hagit, and Barbara Bixby.  Those were interesting!  Last on my list is online presentations.  Why bother having a host yap about a jewelry item when it is not on a table in front of him/her but just a blow up of a picture?  If you are trying to buy a ring for a thousand dollars we need to see a full to scale presentation.  You pay more attention to a Basso blouse!

QVC does not come across as a  business that I would buy any diamond piece from when  they don't even post adequate info abt a piece such as the supposedly  $2,000  yellow & white diamond ring Courtney  presented the other nite that was marked down 19% @ $1,639 dollars . The online description just said  diamond color " near colorless "  0.75 cwt  and Michele L said H-I . Nothing she said abt if they stones were all fully faceted or the  carat weight  .  They just talked abt generalizations abt Affinity  diamonds , well for that money how abt  giving all  the info on air and  online .  Courtney did briefly show the under gallery  of the ring  . Someone may be reading these posts . Then they said the ring was  " all sold out " . It's in inventory today .

This business of buying  and then  return if you wants, well QVC does not  reimburse the cost of the tax they charge  nor shipping .

I agree. Even on air, most of the diamonds look cloudy. I would not buy a diamond if the cut, clarity, color, and carat weight weren't identified.

Re: Inventory control and new designs

@CalminHeart I didn't see the presentation. I seldom watch the affinity shows because I don't want to spend the $ on the brand. The last diamond anything I bought from QVC was YEARS ago. I was happy with it but the prices these days are astronomical and I don't see the quality either.

Vague general commentary from the host and the vendor don't entice me to buy.

Re: Inventory control and new designs

Am not a diamond girl anyway. I don't watch those shows and therefore I don't buy. If I did buy, I have to be where I can see the item and  put it on  and ask questions to a live person. I do buy jewelry often tho. Nothing  that has many zeros after the numbers----have spent a few hundred $ on a couple of pieces recently.  Memorial pieces for me and DD.

You have to go a trusted jewelry store.  You have to be there along with the jeweler if you want to buy diamonds. Otherwise don't bother with it.
