I have to preface this by saying that this is an initial response and that often I change my mind, especially when it comes to JR diamonique pieces that seem to be "too much" but then grow on me slowly and blend right in with the rest of the stuff. Because of this phenomenon that seems to occur quite often with Judith's diamonique jewelry, I think that I am going to have to give this one a very good review that may grow into a great one within days. When you first put this on, your initial reaction might be "Where and when am I going to wear this," which will more than likely be followed by "If only the stones were smaller."
But..............
I have played with it for a little while, and these are my observations:
Worn alone - it is smart and quite substantial and could pass for the real deal on the right person, one who is very wealthy - lol - (the stones are quite large) and is a very attractive bracelet that will leave many people scratching their heads trying to figure out if it's real and who you inherited it from or how you came up with the winning lottery numbers. It is elegant and not "tacky" at all, but if you are someone who worries about believability, this may not work for you.
Worn with a watch - it has the bling factor to perk things up to a new level. I tried it on with the ceramics and it looks quite nice. It's a grand slam with the silver chrongraph!!! I like it with the silicone's very much because the silicone's tone it down a little to a degree where the combination is very interesting, the question of whether it is real is no longer important because it just seems fun, and it looks great with jeans. (although it's great with jeans no matter how you wear it).
Worn stacked - to me, is the best way to go. I wish that we could post pictures, and I will take one and try to send it to the Sisterhood so you can see it. I have it next to the GS bracelet, a JR2 skinny white sapphire cuff and another JR2 thicker cuff and it works beautifully. It adds to the art of putting things together that are very different in shape and form and having them come together as one unified beautiful group, which is the essence of Ripka jewelry to me.
BTW, I have a 6" wrist and got the average and there is a lot of drape -almost 2 fingers if that helps anyone wondering about sizing.
To sum it up, where I normally would have been "this is too big and therefore not believable and too over the top for me," I have come to learn through experience that there is no such thing as too big (lol) and that almost everything that Judith makes WORKS. I will wear it for awhile just to be sure, but I think that this one is a keeper.
Holy smokes - I couldn't even imagine what this would look like in a necklace. Do you think that we might find out on the December show???????
