There are a couple of orchid pieces in clearance right now...doublets....JR's! Jump on them if you like them! They would make very pretty accent pieces to a pretty white blouse....perfect for Spring!

I've had these 2 orchid pieces in my wish list forever. I've held off buying because they look to me like they would appear as plastic rather than a stone. Sometimes they have a plasticy appearance and I'm betting these might. BGDC, I see from the reviews you have them, what do you think?I may not get the TSV, but I am shopping for JR this weekend!
They are okay. They are small. The color is pretty, but there is no glow - just a pretty mauvey-orchidy-pink with clear sparkle on top of it. As a three-stone or large stone ring, it would have been very pretty, but the suite had no ring. I love pinks and orchids, which is why I bought it, but I can't say "you gotta get it." Nice in the springtime, but like I said, small, like the size of flora necklace and earrings.

I read the jewelry forum regularly but do not login to post regularly. Why? A variety of reasons.
..Computer problems
..I don't have something to contribute that someone else will not say for me
..I try to be positive in posts and sometimes I don't have something nice to say so best to not say it
..I find I am shopping more on other sites and don't want to overrun Q's site with business I've given elsewhere - some posts are fine but if I posted everything that just doesn't seem right since this is Q's site
..Specifically on Judith Ripka pieces - the high prices have really finally hit me over the head when I hemmed and hawwed on a 14k piece of jewelry because of the price and then realized the well made 14k piece was significantly less expensive than a piece of JR silver. I found I was programmed to think 14k was too expensive to buy while I bought silver pieces at outrageous prices. I still buy silver, but I am buying with eyes wide open now.
There have been brief times where it has been days since I have checked in to even read, but for the most part I do try to keep up on what's going on but like I already said, I don't always login to post.

A few reasons. No one is on the board anymore when Judith is having her shows, so why bother?
Who am I going to chat with...myself?
I agree the prices have gone WAY beyond.
BUT, I still love watching the shows and if I don't watch the actual show I'll check out the Items Recently On Air.
But to chat on the board, no thanks. There's no one here to have fun with anymore. It's a dead board and has been for awhile.
I'm actually surprised it's still a category and it hasn't been removed yet.

I am very satisfied with the pieces I have and don't always feel the need to buy. As another poster had said...the board cycles and I agree with that.
And Oneanddone - I am usually on the board to chat during shows......you never should feel alone! We crazies need to stick together!!

I am reading forum few times a week, but don't get into the conversations as I used to. First of all, the only stuff I'm buying from Q is Michael Dawkins (and he does not come often enough to have a long chats) or 1-2 pieces of Arte d'Oro a year. The rest of my jewelry buys are coming from eBay, so I really have nothing to talk about here . I am not interested in Ripka or resin stuff.

GlitterPuss, yours is a very timely thread. I too have wondered where people have gone to and I am not speaking specifically of Ripka.
I always find these first three months of a new year difficult both financially and mood wise. There are always so many bills that are due at this time of year...car insurance, excise tax, water and sewer not to mention our oil heat . I find that I like to chat but have no extra $$ to buy very much, although I did splurge on Linea.
Ripka is a totally different story. I have been purchasing Ripka since she first came to QVC and although I am not a huge collector, I have quite a few pieces. I also have several pieces on my WishList.
The problem.....her items in silver and lots of diamonique have gotten too expensive for me.
case in point..although there are almost 2,ooo looks at this thead, there are only 48 replies

I know the folks at QVC have people that read these forums. If they didn't they wouldn't be able to "poof" the posts that violate the rules.
I would hope that whoever reads them occasionally passes along what they read.
It is true that metal prices have risen and that it costs more to buy the jewelry that they need to sell on air. It is also true that QVC has a cost associated with doing business, they have to pay their employees and pay for air time.
It is also true that some folks seem to be happy paying the prices for the JR and other lines. There are also those of us who are not, and therefore don't buy. I don't think they don't WANT my business, I just think as long as they can sell items at inflated prices they will continue to do so.

For me it's the fact that the prices are way too high now and also way too much diamonique. I used to be a big JR fan, but no longer.
