I have a question about JR Charms

I have a JR charm that has a clasp so that it can be attached to a bracelet or a necklace, but can you tell me why the clasp is on the front side of the charm instead of the back side so that when it is placed onto a necklace you cannot 'see' the clasp. Below is a photo of what I am talking about. Thanks for any feedback.
