I loved listening to the stories, too. I was in high school when JFK was killed, and I was at the age that I was fascinated with Jackie's hairdos and fashions even then. I didn't know till yesterday that she had raised her niece and apparently she and her sister stopped speaking.
I mainly wanted to add that I've seen other QVC lines break molds. The ones that come to mind are the Fenton art glass pieces.

I don't watch QVC too much anymore cause I just can't afford to order. I saw this post & was shocked. Can someone tell me what happened? Did the Kennedy family decide to stop or was it QVC? I sure am thankful for the pieces I have. I do have the scarecrow pin, the 3 strand pearls & the paperclip necklace as well as several others. I too loved the stories but just haven't been watching much recently. Thanks to those who respond.

Karen - Philip mentioned that the factory that made the pearls closed and he couldn't imagine the line moving forward without the pearls. I don't know if we will ever know the real reason. I think the line went on longer than anyone expected.

Thanks for the reply. I worry about the future of some of these lines as no one seems to want to study to be a craftsman anymore. Joan Rivers had such beautiful enameling on her jewelry - I haven't bought a piece in years as she seems to be concentrating on clothing which I am not interested in. I loved her hand cream & foot cream, that is gone now too. I will treasure those pieces that I have & be grateful for them because I don't think we will ever see the quality that we used to.

okay, I cried.
Bird, did you go to the other site and pick up the scarecrow pin while it's still available?
I read some reviews here and they say the beads on the feet come off. One lady said the scarecrow lost it's head and she glued it back on.
I have had this pin for several years. It has held up beautifully for me. It actually looks better than this picture.
Altogether, I must have 50 -60 pieces of this jewelry. I was a fan from the beginning. I honestly can't think of a piece that hasn't held up well. And the compliments I get are unreal! For the most part people think this is all real (and if they are rude enough to ask, I am rude enough to not answer). I love all of this and am so very sad it is going....

Your pieces may be more valuable now that the molds are broken. Do you think?
