Re: How Do I Clean the Ripka Mother of Pearl Sterling Shell Enhancer

This is such a pretty enhancer. I am determined to bring it back to life!

Do you think you could use something like this? Hold the MOP part with a clean cloth and wipe the tarnished silver area with something like this on another cloth or a Q-tip?? I haven't had mine out in a while so not sure where exactly the tarnish is at.

Sweet Susie, I've even used Windex but I think the Softsoap works the best...I don't even soak it but I wash them fairly often or clean them off with the micro-fiber cloths.

Have you tried simply using silver polish?

If it were me, I'd probably use one of the dip cleaners and a Q-tip.

The trick to this enhancer is getting a good piece of MOP; I returned it once, and ordered again when they got a fresh batch, so I wouldn't return it.

It was less than $50 when I ordered mine from QVC, so the price on the earrings totally escapes me.

Ennui1...there. Isn't enough space I between the silver design on the back to insert a q tip. To be honest I think that I am going to contact the seller and make arrangements to return the enhancer and request a refund. The cigarette smell is really bad and the tarnish that I spoke of earlier is probably not correctable. Live and learn. There are several others on that auction site that starts with the letter e,and I might bid on one of those. This enhancer is simply beautiful with the new Ripka TSV silver/pearl changeable necklace.

Problem solved! I contacted the seller and explained the problems that I had with the enhancer (nasty cigarette smell, tarnish) and they said to return the item for a refund. They are even going to refund what I will spend to return the enhancer! It's such a shame that the item was in such nasty condition because the seller is such a nice person!
