Hidden snap post earrings problem

Has anyone ever had a pair of snap post earrings that you had great difficulty getting in your ears and then when you did they didn't look right? These are hoops and they seem to go out to the side instead of hanging straight down like my other hoops. I honestly thought the holes in my ears had grown shut, but thats not it. The front will go in, then I have trouble getting them to go all the way thru. Its very close to impossible.

I ordered these online (not from QVC).  I have never had a pair that fastened like this or were so difficult to get to go all the way thru my earlobe. TIA.

If the "post" is on a hinge, they will wobble.   You need to look for the "solid" kind..........

@happycat    Yes, yes I have 2 pairs of Q huggies, one in Ethiopian opals, one in turquoise that I practically have to stand on my head upside down and backward to get them on and closed.   Many times, I give up..  Once on,, they're okay.

Re: Hidden snap post earrings problem

As I used to be an earring collector for many years and chose all earrings to match my apparel and then just bought earrings hoping to have something to wear with them, I have had several (many actually) through the years like that.  Not from just one manufacturer or sales person either, but from different sources.  I have a pair of gold (18K) that are such animals and they are too pretty.  I punish myself by putting them on and loving them once they are on.

Thank you ladies. I'm thinking of taking these to my local jeweler next week and seeing if she can re do the posts. My dh just pointed out to me that the posts are actually thicker then most of my other earrings, he thinks they are too big.

I used to buy earrings and never consider the fasteners. Big mistake!  I can't tell you how many pairs of really beautiful earrings I have that I never wear because getting them fastened is just horrible!  Even if I love a pair of earrings, if the fasteners are tricky or hard, I will no longer buy them.

@happycat   Are you saying you're having difficulty with the post or fastening in the back once it's through the hole? Confused.

With the post, it's very hard to get it to go all the way thru my ear. Hurts both ears to put them on.

Most of my hinged hoops seem to have thicker posts than usual and I believe they make them that way on purpose so the posts are sturdy enough to click-lock into place without bending.  That and a wobbly hinge are the only drawbacks for hinged hoop earrings (huggie hoops included).

This is the style, @SilleeMee. They are 1 ct moisannite and probably some of the prettiest earrings I have ever had and can't wear the things.

Thank you for the information.
