Not that I can buy but I wish it would have been on a weekend! I thought the Klondike gold rush really did take on August 16th? Not positive but I thought so ...
Oh yea, they have to reserve the weekends for the millionth presentation of computers, blenders, vacuums and mattresses... I've often wondered if jewelry really doesn't sell of if it's the stuff their buyers keep putting out there that isn't selling, either because many of us don't much care for it or because we've reached a saturation point... or a little of both.

Hoping to cash in on reported gold strikes in Alaska, Carmack had traveled there from California in 1881. After running into a dead end, he headed north into the isolated Yukon Territory, just across the Canadian border. In 1896, another prospector, Robert Henderson, told Carmack of finding gold in a tributary of the Klondike River. Carmack headed to the region with two Native American companions, known as Skookum Jim and Tagish Charlie. On August 16, while camping near Rabbit Creek, Carmack reportedly spotted a nugget of gold jutting out from the creek bank. His two companions later agreed that Skookum Jim--Carmack's brother-in-law--actually made the discovery.
Regardless of who spotted the gold first, the three men soon found that the rock near the creek bed was thick with gold deposits. They staked their claim the following day.

I've been watching watching channels since the 1980s and have accummulates a little silver and a LOT of gold. Back in the 80s and early 90s, they had really good prices and would even tell you the gram weight. Point is...I have more jewelry than I can wear. Some, I haven't wore. I find myself wearing the same few pieces everyday. Once or twice a year, I might thru it and am reminded of what I have, I have no daughters. One daughter-in-law but she is kinda big so most of my stuff she can't wear or I'd ship to her. Same with high end purses. I just don't have the time to get to them. Actually, I don't like changes them out...always forget something I need.
So you all enjoy watching. I almost never watch jewelry shows anymore. Couple of years age, I did buy a Bonzo wach and a bracelet. Its so light that feel it is inferior.

Hey Ms. Fox, your not allowed to travel through out the board, girlfriend hahahahah didn't know you loved gold, too.
Yeah, I know what U mean. I have to make a effort to wear gold & stuff to certain places that are nice enough. I don't plan to buy anything anymore in my 'old' age husband doesn't like it and not that many places where I live to wear it.

Lol...yeah, I love it but I don't need any nor do I have anyplace to wear it. I wish that I had sold some of it when the price of gold was high. Sometimes if I dress up a little, I wear it to work but I'm always worried that one of the kids might get into something around me it it gets damaged. Luckily the time one of them got tangled up into my lacelace, it was a cheapo. I wear a nice 16" gold chain around my neck with 3 diamonds on it regularly but since it's short, I figure it's safe enough.
Ha, I can count on one hand the number of times I might have posted here.
