I'm reading, from several sources, that heirloom (not even old, but antique looking) jewelry is making a comeback. For me, it never left. The articles have shown larger button style earrings and jewelry that's not as delicate as we've been seeing. Most pieces have pearls or other gems...real or faux. Also "big" is larger chain link necklaces. Yay! I saved several from Ripka, but have always stacked them w/ pearls and other chains...Coco Chanel style.

How do you feel about this style of jewelry returning? Will you wear it?

We've seen more minimalist jewelry recently, with tiny necklaces that looked like they would break with a sneeze, so it seemed about time for something old to become new again, and start trending. That said, I applaud women who wear what they enjoy, regardless of what's on trend.

So, @Shanus, bring out those favorite pieces and never feel the need to put them away. They sound like they would fit your fun, free thinking, personality. And, yes, I would wear both, too, depending on the situation, and, my mood of the day Woman Happy.

@ShanusSome things stylists and/or trends tell me I SHOULD wear are just totally wrong for me.  For example, my two worst "colors" for tops especially are black and white.  But equally bad on me is delicate jewelry, so when I do wear it, I add it to my bigger pieces instead of making it my only.  I almost never discard it.  I even have a 14k tiny gold and pearl circle pin I received as a gift for my HS graduation in 1959!

Happy to read your message. I have a lot of "vintage" jewelry because I still love the look.

@BlueFinch   Lol. Free thinking definitely defines my style when it comes to accessories. I've never stopped wearing my bigger jewelry pieces (breaking the rule for smaller women) & dressier jewelry w/ jeans, etc. Love the unexpected like placing a large pin on the cuff of a jacket so I don't make holes on a tee or sweater.

@millieshops   White tops have always worked for me, but since my hair changed to silver & complexion even lighter (!!!), black tops do seem a little harsh. I use scarves and my pearls or bright silver necklaces near my face to soften the look. Refuse to give up my black, but have added navy. Also large pearl stud earrings bring more lightness near my face. BTW, I had a similar small circle pin. I took the pin back off and mounted it on a half dollar flat disk. Now I can wear it on a chain 😜.

I love a lot of different jewelry styles!....love vintage antique looking as well as a more clean contemporary style.  I just can't wear overly bold statement necklaces.

I'm glad to hear that antique jewelry is making a comeback...I hope that vintage china will be as well in the not too distant future and becomes desirable.  I realize that many millennials don't care for it now.

@haddon9   I sold my own good china and silver years ago. Mine had a gold border...couldn't put in microwave for reheating. I saved my grandmother's.. a beautiful blue/white floral pattern. There are many pieces that were broken or missing over the years. I've added other china in blue & white when I set the table...mix and match. BTW, I don't save it for any special dinners. I moved it from dining room china cabinet to kitchen glass front cabinet and we use it everyday. I don't believe in saving anything for only "sometimes". Life's too short.

I prefer statement pieces even though I am a petite 5'4" .  I have a beautiful four seasons 18 k gold heavy good bracelet that I bought in 1978 for $225 from AAFES catalog.  On bay it's usually listed at $5000 and up.  I never wear it but it's part of my "rainy day fund" (I have other statement good pieces).

@patbz   My jewelry is insured so I can wear and enjoy it all.
