Re: Guaranteed Delivery from the Dec 19th Jewelry Shows is NOT happening

@1tuffcookie   I agree that is too long to wait.  I'll bet this forum lights up with posts like CRAZY after Christmas when so many promised gifts do not arrive n time...

Re: Guaranteed Delivery from the Dec 19th Jewelry Shows is NOT happening

For anyone who's in New England (like @Still Knitwit ), s(he) should be aware of the horrendous storm that barreled up the East Coast, Sunday night and all day Monday.

Torrential rain, high winds, massive power outages, flooded roads, trees and power lines down.  We were without power for four days and we were lucky it wasn't longer.

I don't want anyone trying to deliver packages under those conditions - guarantee or no guarantee.

I'd rather the drivers and other workers stay safe and that all but the repair crews stay off the roads.  That's the only guarantee I want.  For me, Christmas isn't only one day a year.  It has a deeper meaning than that.

Re: Guaranteed Delivery from the Dec 19th Jewelry Shows is NOT happening

i do have sympathy for those who are dealing with this issue.

however....

there is no way any retailer can meet 100% of this type of promise.   unknown issues arise.

there is no way any carrier can meet 100% of their stated shipping time.  the retailer can hand it over to the carrier in time but the carrier has issues.

i have been around for a few dozen decades........none of this is new to me.

If promised ,it should had happened, does not matter if some got their orders, they know people need items they ordered.

Unfortunately they can't predict the weather or widespread damage to roads and infrastructure.

As someone else said, once the retailer (any retailer) hands it over to the carrier, there's nothing else they can do.  Mother Nature doesn't pay much attention to delivery deadlines.

And, weather aside, this complaint is as old as the hills.  I would never order something I absolutely needed by a certain date; not even at any other time of the year, but especially this close to Christmas, with only a week to go.

(Take a picture, wrap it up with a note "This is on its way!"  Or pay extra for guaranteed overnight delivery.  That way, at least you could claim back the shipping, if it didn't arrive on time.)

That makes sense....butttt.....Jane insisted that any item ordered in that show was guaranteed to be delivered before Christmas. It has nothing to do with weather....they should not have made that claim.

These shows were on after any storm that hit around here. QVC should, know better before making such grandiose claims. No excuses. If promised, they should deliver. My order sat being "prepared" for days before it was processed.

So @Effie54 - did you get your order or is it still in process?

Re: Guaranteed Delivery from the Dec 19th Jewelry Shows is NOT happening

My Jai necklace arrived yesterday!  It still said "processing" the day before so I wasn't hopeful. It's for me so I wouldn't have been upset if it did not arrive by Christmas, but I'm glad it did so I can wear it.

Was anyone else pleasantly surprised?
