@sarahpanda wrote:@SharkE I'm confused - Why should I wait to buy gold now - if in fact as you said it's ''going way up''?
cost more to buy it now, but, you get more if you choose to sell it now since the price is way up.
example: would you pay 9 .00 a lb for bacon, when, if you wait the price of hogs will go down and you can get that same pound of bacon for 5.00.
In times of war gold and silver value will go up. paper money 's value goes down.
My portfolio has been going down, down , down this week. I'm not even going to look at it. to depressing. It will go back up in time. waiting game.

I have a lot of 18K gold set in my jewelry. Some platinum too. I haven't sold any of my gold. I'm keeping it. All my jewelry will be gong to my son. He can do what he wants with it. Gold jewelry is different than the price of gold. It has gotten so, that gold is more valuable than diamonds. Which is always kept artificially high. The actual setting of your jewelry is more valuable. We have shares in a gold mine. Now that has skyrocketed. Especially now with war, etc. Gold is going to explode. It's the only thing of real value (along with land) In times of trouble certain things gain in value. Also exploding is the price of oil. That was in the news this morning in addition to the gold going up.

I don't care how high it goes, I won't sell my gold. I did that back in 2008 and it was a terrible decision because gold prices went up so high I wasn't able to replace the gold pieces I sold. I am only now buying gold jewelry again. My advice is, if you aren't starving or if your home isn't in foreclosure, hold on to your gold!

Back in 2008, I took some of my gold to a couple of buyers. I was surprised at how much they offered me.
But I decided not to sell since I didn't need the money. So glad I kept my pieces considering how expensive gold jewelry is these days.
I really enjoy and wear my Imperial Gold bracelets, earrings and rings.
I saw one of my Imperial Gold bracelets listed on QVC for $2400, I paid $400 for mine in 2000.

yeah, I had my eye on this cheapy bracelet just to go with my watch. put off buying it because I was involved with huge house and car insurance bill
It was 255 now, it's 320-340 something like that. Will wait I got more then I should have. ROFL I snoozed and I lost. LOL
food is up, insurance is up, gas --home and car are both up. House is your biggest investment have to keep insurance just in case of hail, tornado, who knows what these days !

If anything we should be buying not selling gold right now....unless of course you need the money.

I'm not paying inflated prices for gold. If you don't wear your gold any more and have nobody to leave it too, that wants it , then nows the tiime to sell it instead of waiting till it goes back down again.
gold is on track to hit 2,000 an oz. Buying new jewelry at this price is only for the folks who don't have to worry about or don't care what they're actually paying for. They can afford to scratch the itch. that's fine, but, it isn't me. LOL
