I've never ordered from Michael V. before, as I usually try to avoid vermeil because I worry that the plating will eventually wear. But I was really intrigued by one of his pieces that debuted tonight (137-678), and I thought the gold accents worked beautifully with the turquoise stones and eternity design. So now I'm wondering what everyone thinks about the quality of his pieces? How do they wear? Do you find the silver palladium alloy to be more tarnish resistant than your typical sterling? I'd appreciate any input you seasoned ShopHQ'ers could provide! Thanks!
don't be afraid of Michaels palladium pieces, have mine for years and I take the finish off all silver jewelry, can't wear it. My dad's best friend is a silver smith and said he would make me a special one I couldn't tarnish and wouldn't turn my finger green. Within a week the ring was black where it touched my fingers and my finger was green under it.
I have never had a problem with MV palladium, all look exactly like the day I got them and they are worn all the time, only silver pieces I can wear at any price so please give one a try.

I recently ordered a Sonia ring in diamond simulant pave set in palladium. Made well but not believable with the rainbow play of light. Blingy and fake looking.
If you want the real deal, there are scads of original (gold and gems) Chuck, Sonia, Effy, Carlo Viani on ebay. Sonia's multi-row, bezel-set flex ring - gorgeous.
Here's a Michael V. offering - in gold:
Sonia B buckle band ring w/diamonds:
this gold band ring looks gorgeous, love it. I love wide band rings especially ones that are a bit different looking, not the usual run of the mill, love different pieces and is why I love MV so much but also have some of CC pieces with platinum over the silver but don't wear them as often as I wear MV.

I have several of his pieces and the gold has never scratched or worn off. I do not even store them in a silver safekeeper and they all look just as beautiful as the day I got them. As far as quality, it is unusual I return something because of quality. I did return a hinged cuff because the clasp did not work, but with any line, sometimes there is an oops.
