I showed the jeweler the ring. First he said it looked like silver, then he looked at the stamp and said, yes it is silver.
Then he said that it looked like it has been sized, he can see the soldering.
So...let me get this straight - in your original post you said the first jeweler said he couldn't size the ring because it was stainless steel? Now the second jeweler is saying it IS sterling silver and it's been sized because he can see the soldering??? So...the first jeweler sized it for FREE??? (Not going to happen, period.)
Nothing about this entire story makes any sense at all.
Dear Venzia: I am sorry you cannot follow my story. No, it was not sized for free. When did I say that? He said he couldnt size it but what able to do something to enlarge "just for me". I am seeking help here but if you do not like my experience, then just don't post or read any more.

Thank you everyone! When I posted, I didnt know what to think. You helped by telling me about the stamp on the ring (which I never knew about, duh). You suggested a second jeweler. You stuck up for the Q and with good reasons. You told me it was probably my jeweler, whom I completely believed in the beginning.
For those who helped, a million thanks. For the other darlings who kept telling me this was my fault somehow because I should have known along it was the jeweler or about the stamp, or my "story" is suspicious (?), please sharpen up on your people skills.

I noticed you said at the beginning you bought it 'as is' and that means it could have been a returned item. If so, the original purchaser may have had it sized before returning it, which might also explain why it didn't fit you as you might have expected when you got it. Lots of 'mights' and 'maybes' in this scenario, but plausible.

I really hate it when someone makes such disparaging remarks, including exclamation points, no less, in their title and they turn out to be wrong! I'm hoping the OP comes back with an equally emphatic post apologizing to QVC. Thinking you might have an issue can be said in many ways without proclaiming FRAUD!!! However, glad that QVC was vindicated. Looking at the description of the ring, there was no doubt in my mind. Didn't really think that QVC would mark it as silver, with the country of origin, unless it was true.

I hope you get this straightened out. Please do let us know what you find out tomorrow.
I am sure she will get a call with their In-House Attorneys
listening in.. QVC does not want their reputation on the line
by being accused of "FRAUD" over a $17.00 or $17000,00.00
item....

What is going on? Should I take it another jeweler for another opinion before I cause a stink? My jeweler seemed to know his stuff....
the number is
J280348
What do you think?
Well, you already caused a stink here. It's a little late to worry about it now.
I was sharing my experience and seeking advice for the future, is that a "stink"? Sorry.
You publicly accused QVC of fraud to their customers
using the Internet....
Yes.... THAT IS causing a stink....

QVC is a large retailer and they cannot afford to sell something as one thing if it is not what they say it is. There would be major legal trouble for them if they did so. Jewelers, on the other hand, may or may not know what they are talking about.
Some definitely DO have an agenda which is troubling. Years ago I took my watch in to have a jeweler check the battery. He turned around with it -- and I couldn't tell what he was doing, but less than two seconds later, turned back around and said "It's not the battery. It's the watch. We have some nice watches here in the case....." I took it elsewhere, and it was confirmed it only needed a new battery.
I still remember the name of that first jewelry store and have never darkened their doors again and have nothing good to say about them. Jewelers have a lot less to lose from not telling the truth than QVC.
I hear ya about local jewelers. A couple of years ago, my beloved cat passed away, and I had a heart shaped pendant that I wanted to have his name engraved on.
I took it to a local jeweler who did engraving, and first they told me that the engraver was on vacation, but that he would be back in two weeks.
Two weeks later, went back, was told that he would be back in a week.
Went back one week later, was told that he'd be back a three days.
Three days later, I was told that he was on lunch, be back in the afternoon.
At this point, I was beyond frustrated.
I did not scream, or yell, or cuss, or swear.
I calmly said, "All I want is to have the name of my dead cat engraved on it."
Later that day, my pendant was ready.
No discount was offered for my inconvenience.
I'm so sorry you had that trouble, Yuban! As someone who's passionate about animals I'm also so very sorry for your loss and think it was wonderful to have a heart engraved with your furbaby's name on it.
What a ridiculous chain of events, though! Makes you wonder, doesn't it?

I don't buy much jewelry anymore, a few pieces here and there. Just because my lifestyle (i.e. Drs visits, etc) I go out of the house now with rings on all of my fingers (almost).
I don't pay much attention when people come on here with an alarm about something wrong unless they can back it up with item numbers, etc.
