Re: Eternagold Prices Have Skyrocketed

Just to let you know I have not read the previous posts.  I just wanted to state I am watching now at 5:41PM.  Jennifer is showing an EternaGold honeycomb bracelet for $1875.00, which is, I guess, a reasonable? amount.  But, it has a foldover clasp.  For $1800 I would think they would have at least put a slide clasp to make it secure on the wrist.  I realize that would be more expensive but it's already expensive, so if I pay $1800 for it I would pay more to have a secure bracelet.  Just sayin'......

Re: Eternagold Prices Have Skyrocketed

OK, I've read the rest of the posts now.  I realize this brand is way more expensive than it was years ago, but at that time it was more expensive also.  I paid more for my EternaGold pieces at that time than regular 14K gold.  The price of gold has gone way up since then and it's not EternaGold's fault.  They have specialized gold without nickel and that means anyone can wear it.  Everything is going up since EternaGold was invented.  But, I still have mine and will not be buying any new.

I have an omega, two bangles and earrings from Eternagold bought years ago. They were around $120 each if that much. Cannot believe these prices today.

I know gold is expensive. But why would EG's be 50% more per gram than other gold. Their 'special' alloy can't possibly cost that much more.

I was thinking the same thing! I also recall that EG was more expensive than other lines but no where near the markup now.

I was so lucky as most of the EG (and other lines like Beverly Hills Gold, Imperial Gold etc) that I own I purchased at QVC outlet stores. When gold was selling on QVC for $20 14k and $25 18K per gram, I was buying items at about $10-13 per gram. I sold a lot of items when gold was about $1800 an ounce. I did keep some of my EG, BHG and IG,  and all of the items I still have are just as beautiful as when purchased them.

Re: Eternagold Prices Have Skyrocketed

When I took a jewelry class in High School silver was $1 an ounce and gold was $10 an ounce ( I believe that it was during FDR's era that these prices were set arbitrarily set). I started buying gold jewelry four years later and much of it came from Italy, Hong Kong and Thailand; it is spectacular and heavy. To date I haven't sold any of it but will within a year or so.

Re: Eternagold Prices Have Skyrocketed

I feel fortunate to own several pairs of Eternagold hoop earrings, both yellow and white gold.  I wear a pair almost everyday.  The thing I really like about them is that the piece that goes through my pierce is a round wire.  Now when you buy hoops they come with a rectangular bar.  Those do not fit comfortably through my pierces.  I would not be able afford Eternagold now and since I am now retired, I guess that is ok.
