I wonder if anyone feels the presentation of the earring back/clasps is often lacking or even non existent.  To me it is very important to see exactly what type of  backing is used (stud, wire, etc) and not every presentation includes that view.  Thank you.

My goodness yes.   Very important to see, same as the interior of a handbag.  Even one presentation lacking this info is one too many.  (I  always think that if they don't show the back of something, there's a reason they don't want you to see it.)

I agree, and I find if they are going to cheapen the earring, it is usually the backing.

No, because I usually change them anyway.  I change most fishhooks to leverbacks and have some "special" supportive backs I use for most post earrings.

They seem to take all this extra stuff for granted, like we are sitting there next to them.  No, we are thousands of miles away, we need better descriptions in all categories, verbal and photos, for jewelry and fashion.

This lack of info. has been one of main reasons why I shop so little on the Q lately.  I fondly remember the days of L. Mason and K. Levine when you learned the details of the item presented making it easy to make a purchase.   It really helps to know/see the workings of an earring or the inside of a handbag.

No-a-days they show the item and it is up to me to stop what I am doing or remember to later go online and research the details on my own.

I need them to turn the bathing suits completely inside out and show me all sides.  Sometimes they do it, but not always.  I won't even be tempted unless I can see the swim suit inside & out.

Always remember that you are absolutely unique. Just like everyone else. Margaret Mead

For me some jewelry pieces need explained, earrings are usually not one of them. I use my own backs and as for hoops, I can usually see what kind they are. What I need to see are bracelet and necklace closures...those I need to see up close to see the details because there are so many different kinds of findings in that department.

No, when I watch any shopping channel, I have my laptop or tablet open so I can zero in on the item and see all the detail I need to see.  I do that with everything, I don't depend on the hosts.  However, I bought a bag of large plastic earring backings form Amazon a couple of years ago.  I use those and not the clutch backs that come with studs.  I don't buy wire earrings, they always slip out of my ears.  I buy leverbacks, the safestest of all earring backs.

I posted about the same thing last week. Please let customers see what we are buying,
