I used to buy ALL of my jewelry from QVC. That is until they cheapened it across the board. The diamonique doesn’t sparkle like it used to at all…now everything looks like it came from a gum all machine or a discount store. And the use of the plated or clad metals is just another way to cheapen it. I bought one ring when they first started selling this years ago and it lasted 3 months. Never again! Save your money

@Kachina624 beautiful ring, I can see why you love wearing it. Interesting about the price drop after the patent expiring. I didn't know about that. I had looked at Moissanite on various shopping channels and decided it was too pricey for me. I have to keep reminding myself - I do not need to buy any more jewelry! LOL

@shoekitty that was my experience with Ripka's gold plated items too. They weren't the same color as my 14K gold ring (I compared them to my wedding set). I have a pair of earrings that I still wear but after that I didn't buy anything more of her plated items.

On average it can last from 6 months to 2 years.  I never buy anything that is gold plated. The span is how much you take care of it.  But that's like wearing sterling all over again.  Very annoying.  To me you either buy fine jewelry or go without any jewelry.

I have two 14 kt over ss and they are both tarnishing after one year. Very disappointing. No returns.

I have Veronese gold plated earrings, and a couple of necklaces that I have owned for several years. I can attest that the gold plating has not come off. And these pieces next to my 14K pieces look no different.  I do not wear these pieces in the shower. I don't know why a gold plated item woud tarnish like silver. I have not had this problem.
