DRAT!! Hematite drop e/r post issue

Just returned home from holiday to lots of Q packages..opened the hematite drop with agate and the post dropped off as I tried it on for the first time!! I had read reviews and this is an issue with this e/r. Should I replace with clip style? I have NO clip e/r and am concerned they will squeeze my lobe too much...anyone have thoughts??? Are her clips comfortable and do they tay securely on???
