I was weeding out some old pictures and ran across this one.  I thought you jewelry mavens might get a kick out of it.  I've always gone through Creede on my way to my favorite Colorado resort.  I thought their use of an old silver mine shaft for their fire equipment was unique.  True recycling.

I love Creede... it's a very unique Colorado little town.... @Kachina624 have you ever been to the gem and mineral show there? DW

@dancingwoman. No, I didn't know they had a gem and mineral show.  Creede is about the most unique mining town I've seen.  No place else quite like it and the beautiful valley, The Silver Thread, just outside of town.  My family has a lot of history in that area.

@dancingwoman.  Do you recall going through the little town of Del Norte coming to or going from Creede?  Their hospital is right on the main drag through town.  I was born there.

In the areas around Pittsburgh there are many old defunct mines. They are frequently used for various things. We used to have a vintage MGB, and a boat that we stored in a mine in the winter.Once trhey paint them white and install lighting it isn't bad inside them.
