Yesterday, while watching the Affinity Diamond show, I heard Michael, the guest who represents Affinity, say while showing a ring, "You can tell a well made ring when the back of the ring has an under gallery that sits flat against your finger. Rings without those galleries have metal digging into your finger." I totally agree with Michael. I don't even buy rings anymore unless they have an under gallery in the back.

But, just today, during the Destination Gemstones show, an Affinity ring was shown (J-284085), it was a blue diamond silver ring, very modern, a nice carat weight. Antonella was showing it and when she turned it over, it had no under gallery. The ring sells for $199, so it's not a "cheap" silver ring with a bit of diamonds. The carat weight is 1/2 tcw.

If Michael feels that well made rings should have an under gallery in the back, then why are they still making Affiinity diamond rings without the under gallery in the underside? I was so interested in that ring, but when I saw it had no under gallery, there is no way I'll spend over $200.

Perhaps it's just a little thing, but if you're going to promote the idea that the "best" rings and "all rings should have them," and then you are selling rings in your line that don't meet that standard, it's confusing to us customers.

I love Michael O'Connor. I have many Affinity pieces and have enjoyed them for years. But, it just struck me as odd that hosts/guests say one thing and then their merchandise projects a whole different side.

I'm just glad Antonella showed it, so I wouldn't have made the purchase and be disappointed.

Thanks for letting me vent!
