I have never heard of this color changing stone before, and saw a ring on today that got me interested. So i read some about it on the internet and it says this stone is not real good for jewerly because it is only a number 4 on the mohs scale. Was wondering what the jewerly ladies thought about this. The price seems high to me for this ring but they act like it is rare to have a stone that changes color so I dont know. During my search I found one on hsn by victoria weirk and it is about a 10ct weight for a lot less money. I dont I have never ordered anything from her line. Do you think it is real? Or could it be a man made synthetic stone being passed as real?It is cheap if indeed the stone is as rare as they say on qvc. I would like to own a color changing ring but am a little worryed this stone might not be wearable, what do you guys think? anyone own one?

It is not a rare stone and is found all over the world. The Weather Channel has a show called "The Prospectors" on Sunday nights, where they are mining in Colorado and seem to find lots of fluorite in large crystals. If it's only a "4" on the mohs scale, it won't take much wear and tear.

Check out the teal fluorite on the Liquidation Channel today. Very low prices. It's online, too.

Victoria Wieck's jewelry is really nice. She is a Beverly Hills designer. Her gemstones are real earth mined unless said otherwise, She also has a CZ line on HSN. She has some very nice and unusual designs. I have a color changing florite ring and it is beautiful. I think it is Wieck's from HSN. The color changes from a deep blue to a dark amythest color. HTH
