Yes, I noticed those jewelry pieces the other day. A bit over-the-top for HSN.
-
She is probably trying to sell them on speculation--see if anyone is fool enough to bite. Carol Brodie used to do that every once in a while as well.
-
WIth those prices, it is much better to buy designer pieces like Bulgari or Cartier--at least they will hold some value due to their names, versus CL.

where does anyone wear such expensive jewelry these days? Going to Costco with your mask on? What was she thinking?

and she will gush and whisper, how fabulous they all are!

Rememeber Q used to have those Once in a Lifetime Jewelry shows, items like this at over the top prices.
Colleens son is a gemologist, and jeweler, perhaps he sourced these for her. .
That's what I was thinking also. Colleen has mentioned many times that her son has his own jewelry business. Recently she posted on FB that he moved his store into a brand new location.
.
My bet is that she curated those high-end pieces from his store for this luxury collection. Probably only a quantity of one each.

There are plenty of places to wear Fine Jewelry. Otherwise stores like Cartier and Tiffany's would go out of business.
********
The problem is the raw material in these jewelry pieces is substandard for the prices listed. Flawed, included diamonds are practically worthless and I suspect their profit margin is astronomical.

Did anyone watch Colleen's Couture Collection show?
I saw the video this morning on QVC Plus.
Each piece is one of a kind (the website will say "only 1 left," but there was only one to begin with). No prices were discussed at all. You put your phone to the QR code, and that takes you to the HSN website to get all the details and actually shop.
While they talked about the highlights of each piece, there was very little actual details that are usually talked about with diamonds (the 4 C's) and gems. You need to go to the website for that. Everything about the presentation was very high-level and quick.
Plus, each piece comes with a tag that you cannot remove at home, You contact the company in the information that comes with it, and they walk you through the process. That's so it cannot be copied and returned with a dup. After all, one of the necklaces cost $80,000!

SHQ was like that years ago when they had such gorgeous pieces, if the tag was removed, they would not take it back.

Gem shopping has jewelry in six figures range. But they do have gem & diamond certificates that come with it. And they have them for the $1,000.00 and up range. Under that (in the hundred dollar range)no certificates. But you can tell by the color saturation. That they.... well...are in the under the $1,000.00 for a reason.
