Cleaning chains

I have a plain sterling textured chain that was one of my first CP purchases. I left it in a jewelry case that wasn't treated, and it has tarnished. I have the cloths, which I use on silver and gemstone jewelry. I've used it on plain silver before too, but I was wondering if there was anything else you recommend, since this one is a little more tarnished - or should I just stick to the cloth only?
