Charged CC for Advanced Sales

I was all happy thinking my Bixby Skull ring would come sooner than being shipped

October 22 when I saw it credited from my CC. When I called customer service

they said no it was to hold it. Does that make sense? Anyone else have their CC

charged on a advanced sale item?
