Cautionary Tale (don't do this)

I am confessing my stupidity to fellow Ripkanistas so that no one else makes the same mistake:

Since my wrist is extremely small (even the small size cuffs twirl around), I often gently squeeze my cuffs to make them a bit smaller. Yesterday I wore "The Cuff," which I've had since it first came out as part of an auto-ship, and it is "good old days" thick and heavy. I got tired of it hitting my hand and tried again to squeeze it a bit. Gentle squeezing didn't budge it, so I used more pressure ---and heard it pop. It bent in half, not broken through, but separated at the thin line of diamonique stones, all of which popped out. I closed it back together and found some of the stones (the others actually popped and rolled down the drain of my bathroom sink - would be funny if it weren't so awful).

I can wear the cuff, which now has a line of zipper-like openwork instead of the stones, but I feel bad for doing such a dumb thing. Small-wristed Ripkanistas, don't make the same mistake!

Sorry for your bracelet issue, oceanview! I have to wonder about the consistency of sizing of her cuffs because the two that I own fit differently, even though they are both smalls. I love the fact that she makes size small because there's no way I could wear an average size. I have real issues finding bracelets that fit my 5-1/2" wrist.

I'm so sorry this happened to you. I will remember this for future reference. I have a larger wrist so I probably wont be doing this but will tuck this away in memory.

Take care

I feel badly for you, Oceanview. I know how perfect that particular cuff is, and it is my favorite neutral cuff. I hope it doesn't happen to anyone else here. Thanks for the warning, and I hope you can find a suitable replacement somewhere.

I've often heard of stones popping off when cuffs are squeezed, but never bending in half. {#emotions_dlg.ohmy}
