Yes it's called a Cape Cod bracelet because they originated on Cape Cod. They're copied.

Lovely bracelets, don't understand why some have to be negative. Especially when someone is interested in buying one

Is Cape Cod the "problem" ?Massachusetts?

@Greeneyedlady21   i do not see any negativity here towards the Cape.   maybe the bracelets themselves are expensive yet rather ordinary.     the designers/owners require one to order tickets in advance in order to purchase a bracelet or other jewelry items. Three persons to a ticket and they all have to come in one vehicle. If a ticket is requested and not used, they blacklist the ticket holder. IMO they take advantage of tourists and some of the pics shown on S media show very tarnished bracelets. There are St.John hook bracelets that are much nicer but they do cost 3x  Eden bracelets.

They aren't that expensive.   I don't live on the cape but I do live in Massachusetts.   Again, I love mine and wear them a lot.   Earrings, bracelet and necklace.   I think for a wedding on the cape that would be a nice gift.

Eden, definitely. Eden Hand Arts in East Dennis.  Yes you have to make an appointment.

@faeriemoon - Because of our limited time do you know about any specific place you DON'T have to make an appointment?

@Junebug54 - Your earrings sound really pretty! DD and I don't want to order online. Since we will be there we want to get one there. Is it hard to find a store that has them?

I think Eden is the only place you DO have to make one.  And it is not Covid related; they've always operated this way.  Eden is the originator of the Cape Cod Screw Ball Bracelet although many manufacturers have copied it.  They make them in their tiny workshop in East Dennis.  You can find other Cape Cod bracelets anywhere on the Cape, some are made in Massachusetts even; but Eden is the "authentic" one if that matters to you.

Eden has makes other jewelry as well, and they also feature pottery in their store.

Where are you going specifically?  I might be able to point you to a jewelry store nearby.

@beach-mom

Just re read your OP so I wanted to mention, although there are many styles of CC bracelets, the most common one features a 14k ball on a sterling silver wire bracelet.

eden hand arts is the original store for the cape cod bracelet. the little store called it cape cod because john the founder lived on the cape. I think it is being sold elsewhere because he never put a patent on it so it was duplicated by other stores. you need to make an appointment ahead of time, but, if you know exactly what you want you can go to the side door, they measure your wrist and you can purchase it there. be aware there is very little parking. This store became really popular after one of the bachelors on the bachelorette gave one to the Ali. I don't think they are taking appointments this year, only open certain days and months, the website is where you make appointments.

OK ladies- thanks for all of your help! Eden is out - they are open only Wednesday through Saturday. I understand they are "the originals," but is there another reputable place? Or should we just give up and hope to visit Eden another time? It looks like they close September 5. Maybe DD and I can plan a special trip up next spring. They're nice, but I could live without one. She wants one though and has for a while, especially since she has friends there and is in the wedding there.  Smiley Happy

@beach-mom Maybe you could ask one of her friends up there to purchase for you and you present it to your DD for a special occasion or as a holiday gift?

Hi Beach Mom,

I just returned from a Cape Cod vacation and bought a cape cod bracelet. Chatham Jewelers on Main Street in Chatham have the well known LeStage bracelets.  They measure your wrist and make sure you get the proper size.  They will order a bracelet if they do not Have your size in stock.   Remember the price of gold has driven up the price of the bracelets with the gold  ball.   Good luck.

Definitley Eden Hand! These bracelets originated with this family many years ago  You can look it up  Eden Hand.com  I've been there about 4 times  I have 4 bracelets and a necklace, very well made!  If you buy it else where, you'll pay more! Unfortunately, due to covid, they chose not to open this year. Its a very small place,  that's why you need to get a ticket.

Wherever you go or choose to do, good luck and good luck to your daughter.
