They are actually made with alligator clips.

 

I remember them being used to with a chain to hold your sweater on your shoulder.  In first grade, my teacher used them to post artwork on a cork board.

 

They are also used for electrical purposes.  They have had many uses besides being used for a roach clip.

 

I see them used today to hold work badges.


They have many uses.

So funny, this summer I purchased a bracelet buddy at an art fair.  The artist asked me if I knew what it was....I did, but when the judges came by to look over the artist's booth, they looked at the bracelet buddy and had a concerned look on their face....the woman had to explain to them it was NOT a roach clip but it was to help putting on a bracelet. They all got a good laugh.

 

It is so pretty...colorful beads with the clip at the end, just like what they sell on TV buy prettier.
