I thought the storm had already hit when I woke up this morning to flooded basment and sidewalk, and water pouring outside from my basement sump pump. But no - by strange bad luck - the workers tell me it is a water main break. No water all day, and assume others on my street are in the same boat. Workers dug a giant hole in the alley directly behind my chain link fence (I was going to offer to open the back gate, but the gate was already sunk in more than a foot of mud).
It is now after 5:00 pm, and no information for residents. When we do get water, will it be safe to drink etc. No information on town website, and too late to call town hall . . . ?
