IT'S DONE and I'm thrilled with the way it turned out.  I'm so glad I purchased those spring-loaded sharp scissors as it made the snipping a lot easier than if I used regular shears.  I want to make one for my son who will turn 50 in April but the flannel prints are either juvenile or feminine.  I wonder if plain calico fabric would work up nicely.

I have no idea how to post a picture on here.  If I did, I would definitely post one as I'm pretty proud of my first attempt.(pats self on shoulder)Smiley LOL  Just wanted to let you know.

Hope all is well with you.             docsgirl

You might be able to find manly-man plaid flannels on some of the big fabric sites like Paducah's.

@docsgirl Oh, I'm so thrilled for you. I'm happy that you love it and want to do another. I haven't looked for masculine flannels, but I believe I mentioned that I found four yards in my stash? Well, it looked like I had picked it up for men's pajamas, so I'm sure you can find what you are looking for. Did you check online? How fun that you are going to do another. It's rather contagious, isn't it? Do you have a smart phone? If so, I can tell you if you're interested how I do pictures. Once you get the picture on your computer into your pictures file, it's pretty easy. I'm going to peruse JoAnn's next time I go out and see if they have masculine type fabrics. I will let you know. My granddog got his "blankie" and my son sent me a picture of "Blue" with the blanket. Thank you so much for your update. You made me a very happy lady.

@docsgirl Wow. Go on Amazon. Tons of choices for masculine, including Black Watch.

Hi twopeas and ladies,

I was at JoAnn's yesterday as they have their flannel on sale but all I found were juvenile and feminine fabrics. I wonder if they have flannel that is not on sale that would be more in line of what I'm seeking.  JoAnn's, Michael's, and Hobby Lobby are right near me in the same mall area so I'll run up one day this week.  I'm thinking along the line of animals, plaids, solids, old time cars, etc..  I'll look on-line to see if there is anything I llke.

I don't have a Smart phone.  As I tell the kids in school, I'm old and only have a flip phone and they all laugh.  People a lot older than me have Smart phones but I don't even use my flip phone that much.I do have a camera and know how to upload photos from the camera to my computer.  I have a spring dress cut out and waiting to be sewn so that will be my next project.  I'm also sewing my son a robe and he's been waiting all winter so I need to get that done for him.  It's plush and thick so he'll have it for next year.

Thank you all, especially twopeas, for your help and support. Happy quilting.  docsgirl
