Is this the pink BL arrangement you ordered?

If so, I see it as more of a neutral arrangement that would look nice with lots of other colors.

As for the mixing in the teal, I'd say just give it a try. I like to let my eyes flow around the room and rest briefly on everything. If something bugs me or clashes, I will remove it or replace it with something else.

That is a pretty arrangement from BL. I haven't watched their shows in a long while now and had not seen it.

Nope; nothing in my apartment really does, LOL. Which suits my overall style of what I call "casual-eclectic". Smiley Wink

I love pops of rich color, and all things global. Those color accents are usually in shades of my favorite color, so I think it kind of ties together my entire home .

You should always go with what brings you great pleasure, BC, and not be as concerned with things matching exactly. Try it sometime. 8)

Personally, I'd say give the teal a shot and if you don't like it you can always opt for the yellow... A largely monochromatic scheme is nice, and if that's what you like then go with it, but I personally most usually include a few colors in my rooms, though on occasion I'll do a room up all in variations of the same color or neutral.

I sometimes see homes that are done all "matchy matchy" and while they are clean and low stress because of the lack of clutter and busyness, they can get very boring, very fast.

I like a little color and texture added to a room. I think if you keep walls and fabrics (like carpet, upholstery, curtains) solid, plain and low key, it gives you the opportunity to use other decor (quilts, throws, lamps, candles etc) to add color and texture. Then you can also change out for seasons or new decor colors without clashing or having to redecorate the entire space.

My young niece was with me the other day and she wanted to know about me decorating for Easter and I said pretty soon. Her next comment was she liked how I decorate because I don't use dull colors. She said her Grandma's house has no life to it because all she decorates is with beige and brown and a darker tan. Good thing I was sitting down she shocked me with her comments plus the fact her Gram really does have a pretty home and she is probably 10 years younger then I am. This little girl loves to dress up and she loves lots of bling, just never thought she paid attention to home decorating.
