I am thinking of putting a lantern with flameless candle on front porch. I have found some locally but they have openings on them so not sure if snow proof. Also we get down to -20 for weeks. Any idea?

Hi Traveler, I hope someone has some suggestions for you. I know batteries in general have a difficult time working in cold weather and their 'life' tends to be much shorter. You might be able to use one, but will have to change/recharge the batteries much more often.

*Off Topic* - My husband and I watch the bears at Katmai National Park daily from July-til they hibernate (we stream from Roku). This year has been really fun...a couple of mama bears still have 3 cubs (a great year/season for them) and one mama adopted/accepted an abandoned cub as her own to join her and her own cub. It's so much fun to watch them around Brooks Falls eating the salmon...and Dumpling mountain.

Some of them have fun names the park rangers gave them...like Backpack and Otis {#emotions_dlg.biggrin}

If your porch is covered it might be OK and protected from the snow but when it gets really cold I would bring them in as the batteries would probably have a tough time at the low tempartures. It sounds lovely and better than the chrysanthemums that the deer are eating right now, I need new ideas for decorating

Thanks for the replies. I admit I decorate less and less outdoors. Currently it's just a wreath or swag on front door.
