[ Edited ]

has anyone ordered a major appliance from qvc. i read that when delivered they only drop at end  of driveway and you are responsible to move it into house and hook them up. and shipping cost are allmost 200 bucks. when i read that im like who would buy one from qvc when you can go to a big box store pay alot less for delivery and get it brought into house and hooked up.

I didn't know Q sold major appliances.  But I sure wouldn't buy one if it's true what you said - high shipping costs and you have to arrange to get it in the house and set-up.

Re: kitchen appliance qustion

It's an odd arrangement. Appliances I've bought recently through Home Depot were delivered by the manufacturer. I talked to the delivery guys and they said it generally didn't matter where you bought an appliance these days, the  appliances were all stored in manufacturer operated warehouses and delivered by them. Some local furniture stores would have the manufacturer deliver the appliance to their store and then they'd deliver it, but they all came from the same source. The delivery guys I talked with said they had fewer issues with returns if the factory delivery guys handled the delivery and installation.

Now Sears is a bit different as they buy their Kenmore line from a variety of manufacturers so they warehouse and deliver their own products, but most other appliance retailers now rely on the appliance manufacturer to deliver and install the appliances. (By the way, the model number on a Kenmore appliance tells you who made it. The first three numbers of the model number tells you who made it. Here's a link to a site that tells you more.)

Dropping off an appliace at the end of the driveway seems more than a little odd.
