Re: has your Home Goods store changed?

Thanks all!

I'll check out Wayfair.

I tried Hobby Lobby today. They had more than Home Goods some "maybe" items.

One item I liked at Ikea but had their name, kind of like the artist signature. So I passed.

There are still a couple more HG near I can try.

I still like a lot of other things HG offers, just not what I'm looking for.

HG is really focusing on furniture by me. They have made the gourmet food, kitchen and bath areas so small. It's all about furniture and lighting now.

Re: has your Home Goods store changed?

I still go to Home Goods. My store hasn't changed since it opened 5 or 6 years ago.

When I moved into my house, I bought all new pictures. I got them at Home Goods, Pier 1, Kohls, and Ashley Furniture. My favorites are from Ashely Furniture. I just happened to be in there one day and noticed their pictures. At the time, they were having a sale. Buy 3 pictures, get one free. They were all in the $150 range, but the pictures are substantial. I have 10 ft ceiling in the living room and needed substantial.

Good to know. I know of at least 2 Ashley's near me. One is by Kirkland's and the other is by Ikea.

I have a really huge wall also.

Re: has your Home Goods store changed?

Its getting harder and harder to find nice things for the home. We have several Home Goods Stores in our area but only one that is super nice and stocked to the roof. It is connected to a T.J. Max Store and those seem to have a much bigger selection.

No one goes to Home Goods any more, variety of items is none.

I go to Home Goods and still find good stuff. it depends on the store--some are better stocked than others.

The Home Goods I go to is always pretty busy, so I wouldn't say that no one goes there anymore.

I love it because of the huge variety, and new merchandise comes in all the time. It's my go-to place when I need a gift for someone who has everything.

We have a new store in our area. I have never been. I would like to check it out. Since I have never been inside the store I guess I will never know what is missing as far as WHAT USED TO BE THERE.

Goodness, our two HomeGoods stores are always busy and packed on weekends!

In the last two months or so, there hasn't been much at all, but earlier in the year, I found some wonderful oils on canvas. Either that, or I just go on the wrong days after things are gone.

Maybe you don't go to HomeGoods anymore but don't generalize that the entire public doesn't! I live near several HG stores. They are always a mad house with shoppers! My stores still carry lots of wall art. But I noticed shopping at HG is like shopping at a garage sale. If you see something you like and don't buy it then, when you come back for it, more times than not its gone! Love all my HomeGoods!!
