guest room decor question

We have this new house. And found a bed set that I like. However, I am not good at home design. Do not know the 'no-no's' from the good ideas.

Was in Marshall's one day and found a nice bed set (quiltish). I asked a woman nearby if it'd be good for a guest room. Her reply was 'not really, it's too busy for a guest room.' So, I didn't buy it and now I have no confidence whatsoever in my taste! It wasn't 'that' busy if you ask me, just some pretty darker colors-maroons, sages. But, it did have an 'India' type paisley design. {#emotions_dlg.confused1}

So, now I have found this set in a magazine. What do y'all think??
