So we have central air and heating in our house with vents on the floor throughout the house. My husband told me that it's not a good idea to close the vents. Well, we have two bedrooms that we keep closed up all the time. They are very seldom used. Every time I open those doors the heat hits me. They seem like the warmest room in the house. I hate to think we are heating rooms that aren't used but I don't know what to do about it. If I close those vents will the heat distribute throughout the rest of the house? The main reason we keep those rooms closed is because we have outside cats and ocassionally they will get in the house and head for those bedrooms and hide, sometimes for days.
Anyway, any advice would be appreciated.
Susan
