@Pooky1  The Federal Trade Commission says those plug-ins are a rip off and don't work.   They were going to take them off the market at one time.   Don't know why they didn't.   As I said,  you probably have multiple mice.   I thought I had one once and ended up catching 15 in traps,  my preferred method of murder.   Don't depend on plug ins to rid your place of pests.

we have an exterminator come once a month......

he sprays around the outside of the house, sets some bait in traps inside the house in inconspicuous areas, and throws some other type of bait in the drop ceilings in our basement. it works pretty well, although we do get an occasional mouse or two, especially when it is cold.

I paid an initial $200, then $80 for them to continue to come every 2 months.  If I had a problem in between visits they would come right out.  The guy spent a lot of time going through the house each time.

Try one of those ultrasonic plug-ins.  I have a few of them around the house.  They seem to work if you ask me.  They not only keep mice at bay but I have far fewer insects, spiders etc. around the house too... it's uncanny.

I should say that I had an infestation in my basement in the fall 2015.  I first had to catch them, so I used a combination of convention spring traps and those sticky pad.  I caught a lot using those sticky pads, more than in the spring traps.  At around that time is when I first started using the ultra-sonic things.   I had a period of nearly a year without a single mouse, then caught one in the sticky pad a few months ago, then nothing again since.  I keep my traps/pads loaded in the basement just in case and of course am using the ultra sonics too.....if you ask me, once I got rid of the mice already there with the traps the ultra sonic seems to be doing the rest of keeping them away.  I caught a dozen or so within a day or two of plugging in the ultrasonic, like it drove them crazy and into the traps as hard as that may be to wrap your mind around, but it is what I experienced so just passing it along.

@Pooky1 i paid 225 for one time visit but they would return for free within 90 days if you heard mice moving around.  They used the poison bait.

I seeded my lawn a little late and I think it attracted the mice, along with the cold weather.  Next year I'm putting the seed down in Sept or Oct at the latest.
