Although I get a couple free calendars - which I take to work - each year I make a pilgrimage to the ONE bookstore that carries my beloved Kliban Cat calendar.
In fact, today will be that day!

Same here. We used to easily get one at the bank, but now you have to be quick or they are gone.
I have seen people take five and six calendars from a business when they are free, and that irks me. The really need to Give others a chance to get one.
Now if they simply send them to you in the mail from different, charities/businesses, that's a different story.

We don't get many anymore and I'm fine with that. It's not like the old days when we used and needed paper calendars. We have our calendars on our phones and they are linked to our tablets and our computers. Our calendars are a few taps away and we get reminders. So, who needs paper? So far, we got 3 and that will probably be it. We got one from the Wounded Warrior Project and one from the dry cleaners and one from some realtor we don't know and have never done business with. I have no idea what we'll do with them but they are pretty and I feel bad just throwing them out.

I Don't use electronic calendars. Rather, I use old Power Up software to create several different types of calendars for different purposes.
For my desk, it's a week at a glance standing upright in a 3-ring binder. In my laundry room, it's a month at a glance pinned to the cork bulletin board.
The thing I love about the software I enter whatever the date is remembered for ( with cakes, crosses, wedding rings, etc. ) and it automatically carries it forward through the years.

I get lots of animal and nature calendars from various organizations I donate to each year. I use most of mine. I have one at my desk and kitchen at home. I take 2 more to my classroom - one on my desk and another on the bulletin board. Extras can be used for various school projects. I never have to buy a calendar.
