Re: Your Scented Home - Long Post

@PeterDM - I have a lamp upstairs and one downstairs that really work for me.  For years I was always on the hunt for the perfect candle to really put a scent out but always failed.  Once I discovered these lamps I have not gone back to candles.  I know there are a lot of vendors who have duplicated these lamps and also with their oils.  Their oils are great, filling my house.  I tried some of them but did not get the same results as the original lampe berger ones.  They are a French business since 1899.  I know some of their art edition lamps can run very high ($500).  Here are a couple of pictures from their site that I have purchased that are very affordable:

Opera Gift Set – Limited edition - lampe berger collection- fragrance diffuser – home fragrance – perfumed atmosphere - décoration

Opera - $60 (gorgeous)

athena red - diffuser parfum - lampe berger paris

$60

Heritage red - The Flames - Lampe Berger collection - diffuseur de parfum - parfum d'intérieur - objets déco

$80

The oils are very reasonable priced also.  The key to these lamps is snuffing out the decanter after 20 minutes.

Re: Your Scented Home - Long Post

Tobias, no I have not tried blueberry pancake from Crossroads but I bet it smells great.  I am not a big fan of fruit scented candles unless it something with apple.  But I hear it is a big seller.  Did you read any reviews on it on their site?

Re: Your Scented Home - Long Post

funny Rustys mom.. on facebook i just saw on the Crossroads page a alist of the eight top favorite crossroads scents- they are (1 to 8) Buttered Maple Syrup, Farmhouse, Banana Nut Bread, Grandma's Kitchen, Blueberry Pancake, Roasted Expresso, Sugar Cookie, and Kettle Corn. The funny thing is that along with the blueberry pancake, I am interested in trying the Farmhouse...thnk I'll place that order soon.. you are so lucky that you won a candle.. i guess u did it thru facebook. I entered a few times but never won.

I love Partylite candles.

Don't know why, but I can't stand most B&M store candles.

Some make my throat scratchy, even after they've been snuffed out.

Others just smell nauseating.

I like something that throws a little scent.  I also like the aroma from unlit Partylite candles.  Not all scents, no no no.  But there are many different ones, some even discontinued.

I would hate to have to admit how many I have in my possession.

Do you think Harry Slatkin becoming the new CEO for Partylite will change the dynamics of their line of scents?  I have a few of PL's melts & their home decor line is outstanding.

I had no idea about Slatkin!

Slatkin candles are one of the many brands I cannot tolerate.

I hope they don't change.  They burn so *clean*.

Truth be told, I have enough PL candles to keep me till the end of time.

Re: Your Scented Home - Long Post

OMG Rusty's mom-- i just went on the boards to tell you that I got the email when I came back from lunch and just placed an order for the 26 oz blueberry pancake candle and the 26 oz sun ripened grape (which i also wanted to try)! got the 25% off and free shipping which is great as their shipping is high. I sometimes order their candles from Thistle Creek primitives which has free shipping on $35. I was going to get the farmhouse candle but Thistle Creek has that one but doesn't have the grape so I went with the blueberry and grape.. this made my afternoon lol but thanks for posting!

Tobias, I am glad you were able to get in on the good deal.  You will have to let me know what you think, especially about the Blueberry pancake.  I wish I had some money right now, I would order with the free shipping, but I am sure they will have some other good deals down the road and maybe I will be able to buy at that time  Enjoy.

Re: Your Scented Home - Long Post

So, my mom calls me today telling me she looooves VPH's H207567 (Scroll Design Hurricane Lamp).  She couldn't believe how strong the throw was.  She said it wafted throughout her entire home.  I wanted to order this, but I wanted to see the reviews.  Unfortunately it is sold out. I was also concerned that Val would maintain indefinitely a variety of scent/stock in refills, etc.  My mom tells me the vendor inserts stated "Ooh La Lamp".  I googled it and did I hit the jackpot.  Ooh La Lamps  galore with the exact refills as Val's plus numerous more scents.  Several designs for the lamp were available.  I of course, couldn't help myself & ordered the "Madison" lamp ($28) along with refills ($6) with scents; White Tea, Tahitian Pearls, Smoke & Mirrors, Salty Caramel, Gatsby & Mountain Lodge.  I can't wait to try this!
