Yesterdays Delivery from YHJ

H205567

First I must say that I love the white acorn pumpkins.  I was surprised at size, not as big as I thought they might be.  Don't care for the glitter that comes off in your hands when touching them.  However, this being said they are KEEPERS!

H203386  Pumpkin and Pomegranate Fall Foliage Candle Holders

Sadly these are going back to the post office this a.m. One candle holder had a large piece broken off and it crumbled while someone tried to repair, but the odd thing is that there was a white type resin (I am guessing) material all over where it was broken. No paint just a white mess.  No way this should have passed inspection!!!  Of course these are now sold out so both of the candle holders are being returned.  Yes I did call customer service for a FULL refund.

On top of that I sit here with 2 red luminara candles that I bought to go with the Pumpkin and Pomegranate Fall Foliage Candle Holders.  If I return these, then I have to pay the shipping charges.  Not a happy QVC shopper this morning.  Too many things coming damaged, poor quality control with the factories and the Q.

Glad I checked my items out this morning.

I'm never happy when I purchase multiple things to coordinate and use together, then some of them are damaged with no replacements available. It makes the other things I picked out useless many times.

It would seem to me that those red candle's timers aren't working properly, and I'd be getting a full refund on those as well, if I had no other way of using them, or giving them as a gift soon.

How frustrating.

Before returning the candles, if you live near a Pier1 or other similar stores, you may have luck finding wooden candle holders.  After just a quick look at their website, I see some that are somewhat like Jill's, except they are wood, and Jill's are resin.

QVC/Jill's:

Pillar Candleholder with Pumpkin and Pomegranate Floral Swags

Pier1:

Natural Wood Pillar Stand - Small

Natural Wood Pillar Stand - Medium

Brown Carved Wood Pillar Stand - Small

I am sorry for your disappointments.  I have had to return many items recently due to defects.  It took three tries to receive an acceptable set of Valerie's doves, two tries for the holly angels, and two tries for Valerie's chirping cardinals.  I received many boxes last evening, so will be opening them today, hoping that the contents are okay.  I will post later on.

Last year, I wanted Jill's  pumpkin pillars but they were sold out.  I debated this year over whether to buy them, but since I bought the beaded fruit pillars last year, and I have the mercury glass pedestals which I used last Fall, I decided not to buy them.

I recently found a box with many candle holders from years ago, all shapes, sizes, and colors.  They all had the spike in the center, so I had DH remove the spikes so that I can use them with the flamess candles.

One year, many moons ago, I found wooden holders at Macy's, and bought as many as I could afford, which weren't many as I was young and poor.  I still have them, and they still look good.  Most of them will hold pillars.  I have been a candle lover for eons, but back then, used only real as that was what there was. I also have those fruit pillars from last year.  I have to say the bow is nicer on the fall ones than that red on the fruit pillar.  I removed that and added some beaded fruit where the bow was.  @LIL EARL, sorry for your disappointment.  Hope you can find some better holders for your candles.

Re: Yesterdays Delivery from YHJ

My porcelain pumpkins are arriving today.  Based on the reviews, I've learned that I should probably open the box outside! lol

Re: Yesterdays Delivery from YHJ

I received the porcelain pumpkins today.  I opened the box outside, and after taking them out of the plastic, I sprayed them down with canned computer duster to blow off the excess glitter.  I think that helped a little, but I still had glitter all over my hands and kitchen bar after loading in the batteries.  They're vey pretty when lit, and glow in a nice, warm tone as expected.  As others have mentioned, these pumpkins are very small, but they're very elegant, and I'm pleased with this purchase.

Re: Yesterdays Delivery from YHJ

Mine came today as well & I couldn't be more pleased!  I really didn't have a glitter problem; could be the South Florida humidity donated some extra "glue" ?  They are the size I expected which is good for a nestling factor.  I am over the moon estatic with this purchase!
